Why We Don't Rush Appointments

Paul Clayton • July 13, 2026

Many people have experienced a salon appointment that felt rushed.

The consultation was brief, questions were skipped, and the appointment seemed focused on getting to the next client as quickly as possible.

While speed may seem efficient, it is not always the best approach when it comes to achieving consistent, personalised results.

At THE TRUTH IN COLOUR®, we believe taking the appropriate amount of time is an important part of delivering professional hair services.

That is why we don't rush appointments.

Great Hair Starts Before The Colour Is Mixed

The consultation is one of the most important parts of any appointment.

Before any colour is mixed or any hair is cut, we need to understand your goals, expectations, hair history, and any factors that may influence the service.

Taking time at the beginning helps us create a clearer plan and reduces the risk of misunderstandings later.

Every Client Is Different

No two clients arrive with exactly the same starting point.

Hair density, previous colour work, condition, texture, lifestyle, and desired results all influence the service being performed.

The same colour appointment on two different clients can require very different approaches.

Rushing through an appointment often means missing important details that can influence the final outcome.

Precision Takes Time

Whether we are applying colour, refining a balayage, creating a colour correction plan, or cutting a new shape, precision matters.

Small details often make a significant difference to the finished result.

Careful sectioning, accurate application, and attention to detail cannot always be rushed without compromising consistency.

The goal is not simply to complete a service quickly.

The goal is to complete it properly.

We Want You To Feel Comfortable Asking Questions

Consultation appointments should never feel hurried.

Clients should feel comfortable discussing their goals, asking questions, and understanding the recommendations being made.

Taking time to communicate properly helps build trust and ensures everyone is working towards the same outcome.

Healthy Hair Often Requires Patience

There are times when the safest route is not the fastest route.

Some colour changes require multiple appointments.

Some services require testing before work can begin.

Some recommendations involve protecting the condition of the hair rather than pushing it beyond its limits.

A slower approach can often lead to better long-term results.

Our Focus Is Results, Not Speed

We understand that everybody values their time.

However, we also believe that professional hairdressing should be focused on achieving the best possible outcome rather than completing services as quickly as possible.

That does not mean appointments take longer than necessary.

It means we allow the appropriate amount of time to assess, plan, perform, and review the work being carried out.

This Is Not Fast Hair

At THE TRUTH IN COLOUR®, we believe that good decisions, careful planning, and precise execution are worth the time they require.

The consultation, the assessment, the application, and the finishing process all play an important role in achieving the final result.

For us, rushing has never been the goal.

Creating hair that looks good, feels healthy, and supports your long-term goals is what matters most.
